Thousands of anti-Trump protesters expected to walk off the job Tuesday
"Free America encourages demonstrators to meet Tuesday wearing red, white and blue. This is not a request. This is a rupture. This is a protest and a promise, Free America says on its website. Event organizers are also encouraging students to leave their classrooms to join marchers objecting to the Trump administration's first year in office, which has included federal law enforcement being deployed in U.S. cities and unprovoked aggression toward longstanding allies."
"National No Kings rallies protest reportedly attracted 7-million participants in October. Thousands of New Yorkers, including elected officials, marched on Fifth Avenue this month in a related demonstration. Researchers claim that increasingly large protests can be effective in forcing change. In the face of fascism, we will be ungovernable, Free America's website claims. President Trump celebrated the state of the nation with a social media post declaring America is back!!! late Monday afternoon."
Tens of thousands of workers and students are expected to leave work early on Tuesday to protest the one-year anniversary of President Trump's inauguration. Nearly 40,000 people RSVP'd to a 2 p.m. Free America Protest. Organizers urge participants to wear red, white and blue and call the event a rupture and a promise. Organizers encourage students to leave classrooms to join objections to federal law enforcement deployments and perceived aggression toward allies. Women's March Managing Director Tamika Middleton said participants intend to withdraw consent from the administration's actions. Past large demonstrations and organizers claim mass protest can force change.
