On day one of the second term, executive orders expanded immigration enforcement and launched a campaign aimed at large-scale deportations. Throughout 2025, enforcement included ICE raids at workplaces, National Guard deployments in cities such as Chicago and Los Angeles, and a Supreme Court ruling that cleared the way for racial profiling during immigration enforcement. Enforcement actions produced stark images of masked federal agents tackling people inside courthouses and protesters confronting National Guard members.
