Ten Tesla Cybertrucks donated by a U.S. tech billionaire will begin patrolling Las Vegas streets in November as part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department fleet. The black-and-white vehicles display department logos, flashing lights and sirens, and about 400 officers have been trained to operate them using public charging stations. The all-electric trucks include shotguns, shields, ladders and additional battery capacity and are described as bulletproof and valued between $80,000 and $115,000 each. The trucks will respond to barricades, shootings and routine patrols and are said to offer a shorter turn radius. The donation has raised concerns about private donors' influence on public departments and the boosting of a private automaker's brand.
