Teacher banned from the classroom after throwing pupil out of doorway into playground
"Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story."
"Joseph Luttman, then a teacher at Marland School, Barnstaple, was accused of pushing a pupil, (Pupil A) in a way which caused him to fall to the floor, then pushing him away a second time before throwing him out of an open doorway into the playground outside, causing him to land on his back. Pupil A's mother emailed the school on 7 September 2023 asking for a summary of what had happened and why she had not been asked to sign an accident form."
The Independent provides on-the-ground coverage across reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech and highlights investigative work such as probing Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC and producing the documentary 'The A Word' on American women fighting for reproductive rights. The organisation foregoes paywalls and relies on donations from those who can afford to fund free access to quality journalism, enabling reporters to cover both sides of stories across the political spectrum. Separately, Joseph Luttman, formerly a teacher at Marland School, Barnstaple, was banned after pushing and throwing a pupil; a multi-agency meeting followed and he accepted a police caution in January 2024 for assault by beating under section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.
