Tanaiste Simon Harris contradicts US and says 'trade imbalance' was not discussed with Marco Rubio

After a call regarding U.S.-Ireland trade, spokesperson Tammy Bruce of the U.S. stated both leaders discussed the trade imbalance. However, Tánaiste Mr. Harris contradicted this by stating they talked about trade broadly but did not specifically address any imbalance. He emphasized that while recognizing the U.S. government’s right to review trade policies, he hopes these policies will respect the mutually beneficial nature of the transatlantic relationship, acknowledging his role in bringing trade into the conversation.

The trade imbalance wasn't specifically referenced. Secretary Rubio understood the importance of the transatlantic economic relationship.
