"Only 32% - that's less than a third - believe the country is better off since he became president again. In practically every area - managing the federal government, the economy, Venezuela, immigration, relationships with other countries, wars in Ukraine and Gaza and more - Trump has support from less than half the country. The lone area where he has a slight approval (50% to 46%) is his handling of the border between the U.S. and Mexico."
A New York Times/Siena poll shows Donald Trump with a 40% job approval rating and 56% disapproval, with only 32% saying the country is better off. Support falls below half across most issue areas including government management, the economy, foreign relations, Venezuela, immigration, and wars in Ukraine and Gaza. The sole exception is a narrow approval for his handling of the U.S.–Mexico border (50% to 46%). Demographic patterns resemble pre-2020 defeat polling: younger and nonwhite voters show higher disapproval while older and white voters remain more supportive. Trump responded angrily on Truth Social and threatened legal action, alleging skewed methodology and demanding records.
