"When you were spinning platters and making with the banter, did you ever think the president of the United States would be celebrating your unemployment?"
"I mean, that son of a b*tch, you know?"
"I never even imagined there would ever be a situation in which the president of our country was celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs. Somebody who took pleasure in that. That to me is the absolute opposite of what a leader of this country is supposed to be."
Jimmy Kimmel joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show for a rare late-night crossover. Colbert referenced Kimmel's early career as a radio disc jockey and asked whether Kimmel ever expected the president to celebrate his unemployment. Kimmel responded with profanity and expressed disbelief at having a president who takes pleasure in others' losses. Kimmel called celebrating hundreds of Americans losing their jobs the opposite of what a leader should be. Both hosts have recently been targeted by President Trump, with Colbert facing the end of his show in May 2026 and Kimmel briefly suspended after FCC threats tied to a Trump attack.
