The California Fair Political Practices Commission fined former East Palo Alto Councilman Antonio Lopez $1,263 after a complaint by Councilman Webster Lincoln. The FPPC found many of Lopez's 2020 campaign statements were filed late, expenditures totaling $14,104 were not recorded, and $4,500 was not processed through a bank account. Lopez paid the fine, resolving the case. Lincoln previously sued Lopez in the 2020 election, alleging illegal electioneering by hiring a food truck within 100 feet of a polling place. A judge ruled in Lopez's favor in 2021, finding he didn't improperly give away tacos. Lopez paid about $4,000 for the taco truck.
