"It's people who could be involved in helping shape the future of college athletics and some of the solutions and strategies to structuring the athletic world going forward. It's so preliminary, it's hard to say anything with any sort of specificity because there hasn't been anything provided to us in writing of that sort yet."
President Trump will chair a College Sports Roundtable at the White House on March 6, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and New York Yankees President Randy Levine serving as vice chairs. The event will include 35 invited guests spanning college athletics leadership, professional sports figures, and former coaches. Attendees include Tiger Woods, Nick Saban, Mack Brown, Urban Meyer, Condi Rice, Adam Silver, and various athletic directors and university presidents. No active head coaches received invitations. Attendees express uncertainty about concrete outcomes given the large, diverse group and limited preparation materials provided. Texas Tech billionaire Cody Campbell, involved in a "Saving College Sports" campaign, is also expected to attend.
