Four Republicans Josh Hawley of Missouri, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan of Alaska supported it, along with all Democrats."

KFF projects annual premiums would more than double if subsidies lapse. A Democratic bill to extend subsidies three years failed to reach the 60-vote threshold, receiving 51 votes in favor and 48 against, with four Republicans joining Democrats and one senator absent. A Republican plan to provide payments into health savings accounts instead of tax credits was also defeated, with most Republicans supporting it and one GOP senator opposing. Party leaders exchanged accusations ahead of the vote.
