Far-right influencer Matt Walsh called for executions of people he branded "LGBTQ+ terrorists." Representative Nancy Mace used slurs about the shooter's partner and said that transgender people are "violently ill" and should be restrained in straitjackets. Representative Ronny Jackson argued for institutional responses, described transgender people as having "legitimate psychiatric issues," and likened them to a virus and a cancer while calling them a group of domestic terrorists.
