Rep. Andy Ogles has proposed adding President Donald Trump to Mount Rushmore, alongside the existing four presidents. He believes Trump's achievements, especially the upcoming Big Beautiful Bill, warrant this recognition. Ogles draws comparisons between Trump and historic figures like Washington and Jefferson, emphasizing qualities such as love for country and expansion of horizons. Over the years, there have been several suggestions to include others in the monument, including notable figures like John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama. The original sculpture was completed in 1941.
I'm asking [Burgum] to put Trump on Mt. Rushmore, wrote Ogles, along with this explanation that cited the impending enactment of the Big Beautiful Bill as a historic act that justified adding the current president to Mount Rushmore: Given the scale and scope of President Trump's recent achievementsespecially the impending enactment of the Big Beautiful Bill, the historic act that will ignite America's Golden Ageit is essential that we immortalize President Trump's likeness on Mount Rushmore.
