Rand Paul Offers Trump an Offramp As War Against His Opposite of Conservative' Budget Bill Escalates
Briefly

Senator Rand Paul publicly expressed opposition to President Trump's budget bill, calling attention to the immense increase in the debt ceiling it proposes. While he supports the tax cuts included, he is concerned about insufficient spending cuts and the fact that this would make Republicans solely responsible for the $5 trillion debt increase. Paul suggested that if the debt ceiling were separated from the bill, he might be more inclined to support it. He emphasized the need for more robust budgetary constraints to protect conservative values.
I like the bill's tax cuts... I wish they were permanent. If that's all the bill was, I'm all in for that.
I don't think there are enough spending cuts in it... But I still would support the tax cuts if they weren't forcing conservatives to vote to raise the debt ceiling $5 trillion.
