Pro-MAGA Reporter Asks Trump Whether He'd Like a Congressional Investigation Into Gavin Newsom for Palisades Fire
"In regards to Gavin Newsom, would you be open to a congressional investigation with regard to specific policy that killed 12 seniors, to see if there's any negligence on Gavin Newsom or Karen Bass with regard to those deaths? Glenn asked. Well, I'll tell you, there's negligence on not getting permits, we got all the federal permits. The federal permits are much more difficult. They were all got within 30 days. People can build houses. It's going to be years before they are allowed to build their house, and Karen Bass is grossly incompetent, Trump said."
"He then ranted about Newsom's hands and declared there's something wrong with him. Newsom has been trolling the president in recent weeks, deploying the president's own writing style to posts mocking him. This is a very incompetent guy. I watched him with the hands I say, What's going on with the hands? There's something wrong with him.' You watch him. There's something wrong with this guy, Trump said."
"We saved Los Angeles and we saved the Olympics, the president defiantly said."
President Donald Trump criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass as grossly incompetent and questioned their handling of Pacific Palisades fire response. Trump asserted that federal permits were secured within 30 days and blamed state and local authorities for permitting delays that could postpone rebuilding for years. Trump alleged policy failures contributed to the deaths of 12 seniors and criticized permits and local leadership. Trump claimed he deployed National Guard troops to save Los Angeles and the Olympics despite a federal judge ruling the deployment illegal. Trump mocked Newsom’s gestures and stopped short of clearly supporting a congressional investigation.
