Chuck Grassley released the Intelligence Community Assessment appendix summarizing the Steele dossier, previously declassified by John Ratcliffe. Grassley and Ron Johnson had asked Ratcliffe for declassification right after his confirmation. Ratcliffe pointed out he could not release the HPSCI report as it was not under ODNI custody. The right wing’s claims regarding the dossier and its implications have been undermined by the ICA annex, which sheds light on misrepresentations by right-wing figures and their failure to provide transparency about these documents.
The ICA annex proves right wing lies now. It's clear why Grassley never released the document. There are several things in the ICA annex that right wingers misrepresent.
The dossier appendix didn't help in 2020. Each new release from the right only does more damage to their case, highlighting their incompetence.
Ratcliffe released the ICA appendix during the period when Senators were releasing similar documents. No one bothered to release this publicly.
In response to Grassley and Johnson's request, Ratcliffe noted that the HPSCI Report was a Congressional Report not in custody of ODNI.
