Teamsters Joint Council 16 re-endorsed former Governor Andrew Cuomo for mayor, representing 120,000 downstate private and public sector workers. The union stood with Cuomo despite his nearly 13-point loss in the Democratic primary to Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani. Teamsters members include delivery drivers, sanitation workers, film and TV crew, and other laborers across the city. Union president Thomas Gesualdi praised Cuomo for building jobs, industries, and opportunity during his decade as governor. Cuomo pledged to remain a fierce advocate for union members, protect good jobs, grow new industries, and ensure respect, security, and opportunity for working men and women.
