NY to pay $450k to Andrew Cuomo assistant who alleged then-governor groped her
Briefly

New York State has reached a $450,000 settlement with Brittany Commisso, a former executive assistant to Andrew Cuomo, who accused him of groping her. The settlement, made with current Gov. Kathy Hochul's office, is the second of its kind related to Cuomo's alleged misconduct. Commisso alleged Cuomo fondled her in December 2020. She will receive half of the settlement amount, and in return, agreed not to seek employment in the governor's office until 2030. Cuomo's attorneys opposed the effort to dismiss her lawsuit, claiming she settled to avoid testifying.
Ms. Commisso is proud to have reported the truth and vindicated her rights in court, and likewise glad to be able to move forward with her life.
The settlement is not a vindication, it is capitulation to avoid the truth.
