MPs, MLAs, and members of Scottish Parliament and Welsh Senedd have called on the UK Prime Minister to exert pressure on Israel to end the conflict in Gaza. A joint letter led by the SDLP and supported by Sinn Fein, SNP, and other parties demands urgent diplomatic action and a halt to arms sales to Israel. The leaders express concern about the UK Government's support of Israel, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention, citing the escalating humanitarian crisis and loss of lives, particularly among children.
The letter calls for Parliament to be recalled as well as urgent diplomatic intervention and an end to arms sales to Israel.
Every day of delay means more children starve, more families are torn apart, and more lives are lost.
The leadership of seven parties said they are united in their deep concern and opposition to the government's ongoing support for the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza.
Today the SDLP is leading parties in giving expression to the despair and anger at the UK Government's failure to stand up to Netanyahu.
