Americans were asked, Do you think the ICE agent should face criminal charges for shooting the woman in Minneapolis? Fifty-three percent answered yes versus just 30 percent no including 54% to 23% among independents with the remainder responding not sure."
A YouGov poll taken January 9–11 found 53% of respondents favor criminal charges against ICE agent Jonathan Ross versus 30% opposed, with independents splitting 54% to 23%. The poll showed 53% say Ross was not justified in his use of force compared with 28% who said he was justified. Sixty-one percent said ICE often or sometimes arrests immigrants authorized to live in the U.S. without immigration or customs violations. Sixty percent said Trump's ICE agents use unnecessary physical force against U.S. citizens without immigration or customs violations. ICE net favorability fell from +16 to −12, a 28-point swing.
