Neil Young Debuts Trump-Trashing Protest Song "Big Crime" at Chicago Concert: Watch
Briefly

Neil Young and his band the chrome hearts debuted a protest song titled "Big Crime" during a Chicago concert, calling to "clean the White House out" and criticizing the Trump administration's takeover of Washington, DC law enforcement and the presence of soldiers. Young posted the soundcheck audio and full lyrics on his Neil Young Archives. The song contains lines condemning wealthy power: "No more money to the fascists / The billionaire fascists," and repeats a call to "blackout the system." The setlist also featured protest staples like "Be the Rain," "Southern Man," and "Ohio," amid concerns about travel restrictions during the North American tour.
In addition to fan-shot footage popping up on YouTube (watch below), Young posted the complete audio of the soundcheck as well as the track's lyrics on his Neil Young Archives. "No more money to the fascists/ The billionaire fascists," he sings, tying the new song to his other recent takedowns of the millionaire class like "Let's Roll Again" and "If You're a Fascist, Get a Tesla." "Time to blackout the system/ No more great again..../ Time to blackout the system."
It wasn't the only protest song on the setlist, either; a three-song run of "Be the Rain," "Southern Man," and "Ohio," came early in the show, while "Big Crime" was preceded by "Sun Green." The show came in the middle of Young and the chrome hearts' North American tour, a trek Young wasn't even confident he'd be able to take after fearing Trump would bar him from returning to the country.
