Police responded to the Dallas ICE Detention Facility in northwest Dallas at about 7:30am (12:30pm Irish). The shooter was later found dead on the roof of a nearby building, having died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Multiple people suffered injuries and there were fatalities; some victims were reported in critical condition. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed multiple injuries and fatalities and urged prayers for victims and families. ICE acting Director Todd Lyons reported preliminary information suggesting a possible sniper. U.S. Vice President JD Vance condemned attacks on law enforcement. Dallas Police did not immediately return requests for comment.
