Trump delivered a lengthy Davos speech marked by falsehoods, exaggerations, attacks on allies and enemies, and wild asides. O'Donnell said the Greenland idea was a joke and a diversion, unworthy of serious news coverage. O'Donnell accused much of the American news media of taking Trump's threats seriously and called Trump's reversal a surrender that humiliated the United States. O'Donnell criticized reporters and foreign-policy experts who warned that a Trump invasion would threaten NATO, saying Trump had been lying about the whole matter.
