"Miami Dade College in Florida has transferred a parcel of land to the state of Florida to house Donald Trump's future presidential library, The Miami Herald reported Tuesday. The parcel is currently a parking lot and is located next to the campus's Freedom Tower, a historic building that was used by the federal government to process Cuban refugees in the 1960s and recently underwent a $25 million renovation."
"Miami Dade College president Madeline Pumariega told the Herald in an interview that having library on campus would be "historic" for the institution. The state's cabinet will hold a vote Sept. 30 to dedicate the land to the library. The Herald previously reported that the president had been leaning toward Florida Atlantic University as the site of his presidential library; Florida International University had also been hoping to host the facility. If approved, the land will be transferred to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation at no cost. The foundation will be required to begin construction of the library within five years."
