Miami Dade College Board vote sets stage for Trump presidential library downtown
"Miami Dade College property in downtown Miami neighboring the iconic Freedom Tower is one step closer to becoming the site of President Donald Trump's presidential library."
"The college's Board of Trustees approved the transfer of property to the state Tuesday morning, an initial step toward creating the library."
""Next week, the Florida Cabinet will vote to dedicate land at Miami Dade College to house the Presidential Library of Donald J. Trump," Uthmeier wrote on X Tuesday morning after the college's vote. "I'll be voting yes!""
Miami Dade College's Board of Trustees approved transferring college-owned property in downtown Miami to the state as an initial step toward creating a presidential library for Donald J. Trump. The approval occurred during a brief meeting in which board members did not debate or question the transfer. The property neighbors the Freedom Tower, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary and reopening after a two-year restoration. Attorney General James Uthmeier stated that the Florida Cabinet, composed of the governor and his cabinet, will vote on the plan next week and said he will vote in favor.
