""What do you tell a 3-year-old?" Erika Kirk said in her first public address after the assassination. "I said, 'Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don't you worry. He's on a work trip with Jesus so he can afford your blueberry budget'""
""Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one," the board said in its announcement. "He worked tirelessly to ensure that Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests"."
Four days after Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University, Erika explained to their 3-year-old daughter that her father was on a work trip with Jesus to comfort her. Eight days after his death, Turning Point USA's board unanimously elected Erika, 36, as CEO and chair to lead the organization he co-founded in 2012. The board said Charlie had previously communicated that this succession plan was his wish and that he had prepared executives for such a moment. Erika Lane Frantzve was born November 20, 1988, raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, played NCAA Division I basketball at Regis University, earned dual undergraduate degrees at Arizona State University, obtained a Juris Master from Liberty University in 2017, is pursuing a doctorate in Biblical Studies, and participated in beauty pageants and community service.
