Man in inflatable Trump suit says he was attacked on his way to North Shore 'No Kings' rally
""He came up behind me and kicked me," Silveira told WHDH. "I lost my balance and I felt the pressure, but it was more like a push. That's when I hit the pole. Then he kind of grabbed the railing, so I couldn't get away or get off him. He was trying to get me to go to the ground, and I wasn't going to the ground.""
"Silveira told The Boston Globe he was going to the rally as a Trump supporter to peacefully "counter protest.""
""Your honor, I'd like to apologize," Curll said at the Monday arraignment, according to WHDH-TV. "I'm sorry.""
Michael J. Curll, 48, pleaded not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after an alleged attack on Jonathan Silveira, who was wearing an inflatable Donald Trump costume and holding an American flag near King's Beach while heading to a No Kings rally. Video appears to show Curll approach from behind, kick Silveira, push him against a railing and apply a headlock. Judge Leo S. Fama released Curll without bail, ordered him to stay away from the victim and attend therapy. Curll apologized at arraignment. Separate assault charges were reported at a No Kings protest in Hyannis. No Kings protests occurred nationwide, drawing large crowds in Boston and smaller rallies across Massachusetts. Curll is scheduled to reappear in court.
