"Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story."
"Approximately 5 million wet wipes have finally been removed from the infamous Wet Wipe Island on the River Thames. The three-week project was the country's first mass wet wipe removal project of its kind, which scooped up everything from towels, scarves, trousers, a car's engine timing belt and even a set of false teeth. The Port of London Authority, in collaboration with Thames Water and Thames21, removed around 114 tonnes of waste which had congealed into a 250m island on the foreshore of the river."
Donations enable reporters to cover developing stories across reproductive rights, climate change, and Big Tech and to investigate political funding while producing documentaries highlighting affected communities. Quality journalism is provided without paywalls and is funded by those who can afford to support it. Approximately five million wet wipes and about 114 tonnes of mixed waste congealed into a 250m 'Wet Wipe Island' on the River Thames foreshore. A three-week removal operation recovered items from towels to false teeth. Crews used two eight-tonne excavators and a rake-and-shake method to separate non-biodegradable waste from sediment and minimise environmental harm.
