Law firm says BU failed to protect student who reported Allston car wash workers
"This week [ICE] finally responded to my request to detain these criminals. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I've seen how American jobs are being given away to those with no right to be here,"
"Pump up the numbers!"
"If I ever see you i'm f-ng killing you and leaving ur (sic) dead body on the sidewalk,"
"I'll be waiting outside your little event tonigh"
America First Legal represents undergraduate Zachary Segal and demands Boston University relocate him to its Washington, D.C., campus citing safety concerns after he reported Allston car wash employees to ICE. Segal posted on X celebrating ICE detentions and urging increased enforcement. The detained workers reportedly possessed work permits and agents allegedly prevented them from retrieving documentation; none had criminal records warranting deportation, per their attorney. Following Segal’s posts, posters labeling him a racist and fascist appeared on campus and he received online and text threats, including death threats. BU reportedly advised Segal to arrange with professors to avoid in-person classes. The law firm contends BU failed to adequately protect him.
