United Firefighters of Los Angeles City Local 112 plans a dedicated half-cent perpetual sales tax to fund the Los Angeles Fire Department. The measure would appear on the November 2026 ballot. Projections estimate the tax would raise hundreds of millions annually and at least $9.8 billion by 2050. The revenue would finance at least 30 new fire stations, new fire trucks, and expansion of department staffing by roughly 1,400 people.
