Noem called the shooting tragic but said reinforcements are needed to allow federal officers to operate safely. Noem criticized local officials for refusing partnership and accused them of prioritizing criminals and illegal immigrants, citing alleged taxpayer theft and sex and child trafficking among illegal immigrants.
