Leavitt said their rhetoric and comments after the Renee Good shooting created conditions that led to the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. Leavitt criticized Walz and Frey for blocking state and local police from cooperating with ICE, for inhibiting arrests of violent criminals, and for encouraging activists to stalk, record, confront, and obstruct federal officers. Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino said Pretti intended to massacre immigration agents.
