Kamala Harris said the Department of Justice under the current administration cannot be trusted and expressed pain saying so given her prosecutorial background. She stated prosecutors should pursue justice without fear or favor and that many U.S. Attorneys expect impartial application of the law. She said the DOJ appears to be manipulated by administration actors who target individuals, which undermines the principle that the justice system should be blind. She warned that such targeting affects not only those individuals but everyone who believes in an impartial legal system.
