Prosecutors are planning to ask a grand jury to indict Comey before the statute of limitations of five years runs out on Sept. 30. Erik Siebert, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, recently resigned after refusing to prosecute another of Trump's political enemies, New York Attorney General Letitia James. Siebert was replaced by Lindsey Halligan, one of Trump's former personal attorneys."
