A clip showed Hegseth accusing Massie of throwing elbows at fellow Republicans and voting with Democrats. Joe Scarborough questioned how the secretary of defense could campaign while fighting a war that has disrupted the economy globally. Scarborough linked the attacks to efforts to release Epstein files and to accountability for Epstein victims and powerful figures, including the president. Willie Geist agreed with the criticism.
