Joe Rogan and libertarian comedian Dave Smith criticized former President Donald Trump for repeatedly alleging widespread 2020 election fraud without producing substantiating evidence. Smith, once a Trump supporter, described growing criticism stemming from Trump's positions on Ukraine and the release of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents. Both men noted only limited irregularities rather than systemic ballot fraud. Rogan recounted pressing Trump during a lengthy interview for specific proof; Trump criticized mail-in voting and teased showing papers but failed to present convincing examples of the expansive fraud he claims. Rogan and Smith expressed skepticism that arrests or major legal consequences would follow from the allegations.
While ranting on Russia during his discussion with Rogan, Smith blasted Trump for continuing to push fraud claims about the 2020 election while not backing them up. You're the president now you, but all of us on some level don't really think they're going to start arresting people over the stolen election of 2020, Smith said. I don't think they have any evidence, Rogan added.
The podcaster and comedian argued there's more speculation backing up Trump's claims that fraudulent ballots were used to help former President Joe Biden to win. Rogan did acknowledge there is smaller evidence of shenanigans, but admitted Trump did not have an answer when pressed for proof of the kind of widespread fraud he's repeatedly insisted is real. He didn't have an answer, Rogan said, referring to his hours-long interview with Trump during the 2024 presidential election.
