The federal indictment, filed in Illinois District Court, charges Abughazaleh and six others with physically hindering and impeding an agent. Prosecutors allege the agent was forced to drive extremely slowly to avoid injuring the protesters. Abughazaleh condemned the charges on social media as political prosecution and vowed to fight them. She is due for arraignment on Nov. 5.
