I've been planning this since June It's been a lot of work, but it's definitely worth it."
Turning Point USA plans to conclude its American Comeback Tour at UC Berkeley on Nov. 10 with increased security measures after the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at a Utah university event. The organization promotes conservative values on high school and college campuses and was co-founded by Kirk and Bill Montgomery in 2012. Kirk's killing intensified concerns about political violence and renewed debate over how universities balance security and free speech. Berkeley's Turning Point USA chapter, established in 2019, prepared for Kirk's visit months in advance. Chapter president John Paul Leon knew Kirk personally and described the day of the shooting as the craziest of his college experience.
