"The Board of Peace is going to almost be looking over the United Nations and making sure it runs properly. But we're going to strengthen up the United Nations. We're going to make sure it's facilities are good if they need help, and they need help, money wise, we can help them money wise. And we're going to make sure the United Nations is viable."
President Donald Trump spoke at an event promoting his Board of Peace at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace while pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside. During introductions, Trump referred to a visiting leader as a "young, handsome guy" and stated that he does not like young, handsome men, adding that he likes women but has no interest in men. CNN anchors Sara Sidner, John Berman, and Kate Bolduan reacted audibly when the network cut into the speech. Trump also described the Board of Peace as overseeing and strengthening the United Nations, offering financial and facilities support to help make the U.N. viable.
