Eight Democratic caucus members crossed the aisle to support the measure. Democrats were promised a December floor vote on extending expiring ACA premium tax credits, though passage is not guaranteed. The package reverses firings during the funding lapse, guarantees back pay and freezes reductions in force until the end of January. Some Democratic leaders opposed the measure and warned against supporting spending bills that do not extend the tax credits.
