"From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging."
"At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story. The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it."
"Getting enough teachers for a potential new qualification in AI may be a challenge, experts have warned, after the Government unveiled its planned reforms to the school curriculum. As part of its response to the final report of the curriculum and assessment review, the Government has said it will explore developing a new qualification in data science and AI at level 3."
Quality journalism is made freely available without paywalls and is funded by donations from those who can afford it. Donations support on-the-ground reporting across issues including reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech. The Government will explore a level-3 qualification in data science and AI and will teach AI literacy in a refreshed curriculum. Experts welcomed the potential qualification but warned that capacity constraints could limit delivery. A shortage of appropriately qualified teachers already affects access to Computer Science. Myles McGinley highlighted that supply of expert teachers and examiners will be a central challenge for the new qualification.
