Give Me a Break!' Tom Homan Huffs at Reporter's Question About Bribery Scandal
"As Homan tried to scurry past the press corps that was waiting outside the White House, a reporter tried asking him about it. Mr. Homan, the reporter began as Homan brushed her off. I don't have time today, folks. I'm 20 minutes late, Homan said, as the reporter pressed on anyway, asking: Did you take the $50,000 cash in a bag? Gimme a break! Homan growled."
"This was the first time Homan directly denied the accusation. I didn't take $50,000 from anybody, Homan told co-host Bill O'Reilly. Homan told Fox News host Laura Ingraham he did not commit an illegal act, but he didn't go so far as to deny taking cash. Look, I did nothing criminal. I did nothing illegal, Homan told Ingraham. It's hit piece after hit piece after hit piece"
Tom Homan denied ever taking a $50,000 bribe and rebuffed reporters who pressed him outside the White House. He told NewsNation co-host Bill O'Reilly, "I didn't take $50,000 from anybody," and told Laura Ingraham that he did nothing criminal or illegal while not explicitly denying taking cash in every interview. An MSNBC report said the FBI opened an investigation after a tip alleged Homan solicited payments in exchange for awarding contracts if Donald Trump won. The FBI and Justice Department reviewed the matter and concluded they found no credible evidence of criminal wrongdoing. The inquiry stalled after Trump returned to the presidency.
