George Conway to run as a Democrat for Nadler's Manhattan seat | Fortune
"Conway - a former Republican - is entering the Democratic primary to replace Nadler in one of New York City's most heavily Democratic districts, which stretches from Union Square to the top of Central Park, according to a Federal Election Commission filing published Monday. A person familiar with his plans said Conway is considering bringing his fight against Trump to Congress."
"George Conway enters a crowded primary field that includes Jack Schlossberg - the 32-year-old grandson of former President John F. Kennedy - and former Nadler aide Micah Lasher, who's considered one of the leading contenders, among others. A lawyer by trade, Conway along with other disaffected Republicans and former members of the party established the Lincoln Project, a conservative super PAC seeking to thwart Trump's reelection attempts. The group endorsed former President Joe Biden in 2020 and Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024."
George Conway filed Federal Election Commission paperwork to run in the Democratic primary for New York's 12th congressional district to replace retiring Representative Jerry Nadler. The district spans much of Manhattan, from Union Square to the top of Central Park, and was redrawn in 2022; it is reliably Democratic and rated the most Democratic district in New York by the Cook Political Report. Conway, a former Republican and prominent Trump critic, is considering bringing his opposition to Trump to Congress. He co-founded the Lincoln Project and joins a crowded primary including Jack Schlossberg and former Nadler aide Micah Lasher.
