Fox Host Says Lawmakers in Battle of Good vs. Evil' After Charlie Kirk Shooting
"Chaffetz, appearing on Fox & Friends Monday morning, spoke to co-host Lawrence Jones about Kirk's memorial service Sunday, and praised his widow Erika Kirk for her Christ-like approach as she forgave her husband's suspected killer. After Chaffetz cheered the service as a great event, Jones played a portion of a CNN interview with Crockett, who accused Kirk of putting out rhetoric that targeted people of color."
"One of the things I do want to point out that's not been laid out that honestly hurts my heart is when I saw the no votes, there were only two Caucasians. For the most part, the only people that voted no were people of color because the rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color. And so it is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was specifically to us."
Jason Chaffetz appeared on Fox & Friends and praised Erika Kirk for a Christ-like response and forgiveness of her husband's suspected killer following Charlie Kirk's shooting. Chaffetz attended the event where Charlie Kirk was shot and described the memorial service as a great event. Lawrence Jones played a CNN excerpt of Rep. Jasmine Crockett asserting that Charlie Kirk's rhetoric specifically targeted people of color and noting that most 'no' votes came from people of color. Chaffetz rejected Crockett's characterization and framed politics as a fight of good versus evil, underscoring sharp partisan divisions over Kirk's rhetoric and the aftermath.
