President Donald Trump granted clemency to nearly 1,600 people convicted in connection with the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot on the first day of his second term. A watchdog analyst tracked pardoned individuals and produced a report identifying at least 33 who have been rearrested, charged, or sentenced for other crimes since January 6, 2021. The subsequent charges include possession of child pornography, sexual assault, child molestation, aggravated kidnapping, rape, and illegal weapons possession. Many incidents occurred before the pardons; only four allegedly reoffended after receiving pardons. Several pardoned individuals have prior domestic violence convictions.
