Exclusive | Eric Adams isn't high on the smell of marijuana 'everywhere' in NYC, tells 'Pod Force One' it 'should be relegated to certain areas'
Briefly

Mayor Eric Adams has expressed concerns about the widespread smell of marijuana in New York City since the legalization of recreational cannabis. He believes smoking should be limited to specific areas to avoid odors permeating the streets. Adams has a complex stance on marijuana; despite discussing the odor issues, he also aims for New York to become a leading cannabis hub. His emphasis on quality-of-life issues links to his public safety policies, including a revival of stricter policing measures as he approaches his re-election campaign.
"I think it should be relegated to certain areas that you could smoke marijuana, not throughout the entire street, because you do smell it everywhere," Adams told The Post's Miranda Devine on the latest episode of "Pod Force One."
"The No. 1 thing I smell right now is pot. It's like everybody's smoking a joint now," Adams said at the time, chuckling.
