Republican Harold "Heshy" Tischler distributed campaign mailers in Brooklyn tying Democratic incumbent Simcha Felder to Zohran Mamdani and warning that the duo would work together against conservative neighborhoods. The mailers claimed a Mamdani-Felder alignment would mean "LESS COPS, HIGHER TAXES" and urged resistance. Simcha Felder is a conservative Democrat who has caucused with Republicans, provided pivotal votes to keep them in the majority, and is a staunch supporter of Israel. Felder has not endorsed Mamdani and dismissed the association with humor. Republican groups statewide are using Mamdani as a campaign bogeyman against Democrats.
