Epstein files discharge petition approaches critical threshold
"Don't let it be a Democrat who's the 218th signature. Let it be a Republican. That would be good for us to signal we want transparency,"
"They're solid. They're not moving,"
Representative Thomas Massie is urging a select group of GOP colleagues to sign a discharge petition that would force a House vote to release files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Several conservative Republicans have already signed and Massie wants a Republican to be the decisive 218th signature. House leadership, including Rep. Johnson, has cautioned against joining the petition and has placed procedural language into party measures to block discharge efforts. House Rules Chair Virginia Foxx said her panel would not block a floor vote. If Adelita Grijalva wins and is sworn in, a mid-October floor vote could occur.
