President Donald Trump urged voters to support Cuomo and reacted strongly to Mamdani's victory. Dozens of other cities also elected new mayors. Spanberger became the first female governor of Virginia, creating an early test of Trump's second term. California voters approved a ballot measure to redraw electoral boundaries aimed at countering gerrymandering in Texas.
