""For much of the time, there were ... DOJ employees who were looking - I had somebody sitting right behind me for a lot of the time - looking at exactly what I was searching," Jayapal told reporters."

Unredacted Epstein files were made available to lawmakers on terminals at the DOJ headquarters, and several Judiciary Committee members, including Rep. Pramila Jayapal, reviewed those files. Bondi was photographed at a hearing with notes showing a "search history" referencing Jayapal's specific Epstein files. Jayapal alleged DOJ employees logged into computers and watched members' searches, and accused Bondi of seeking advance knowledge of emails to use "the surveillance of members of Congress" against them. Democrats, including Rep. Becca Balint, are considering legal action and other responses. Speaker Mike Johnson called tracking searches inappropriate and suggested it may have been "an oversight."
