Democratic Senator Says Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Doing Democrats' Messaging Better Than a Lot of Democrats'
"They're already paying $2,000 a month with $10,000 deductibles. I'm getting phone calls from people that are saying if the ACA tax credits expire, they aren't going to be able to have health insurance."
"Well, she's not doing better than me, but she's definitely doing it better than a lot of Democrats. Marjorie Taylor Greene is right right now. The Republican Party is absolutely, you know, essentially screwing their voters and a lot of their voter base."
"When MTG does economic messaging better than Democrats we should take notice."
A federal shutdown began after the Senate failed to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government beyond Sept. 30. Republicans hold a 53-47 Senate majority but need 60 votes to advance legislation. Democrats are withholding seven votes until Republicans agree to extend Obamacare premium subsidies set to expire on Dec. 31. Expiration would likely cause drastically higher healthcare costs for more than 20 million Americans. Senate Republicans have not agreed to extend the subsidies. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene described constituents paying $2,000 monthly with $10,000 deductibles and warned many could lose insurance if tax credits expire. Sen. Ruben Gallego said Greene is communicating the healthcare message better than many Democrats and accused Republicans of harming their voter base.
